What we do

Private Roads Services Ltd ("PRS") provides services to residents' associations and companies responsible for private roads and estates in England and Wales.

We offer our own insurance scheme, a book on the law, extensive online resources for members, and a "starter pack" for residents seeking to form an association or company.

About Private Roads Services

These pages explain the history of Private Roads Services, provide regulatory information which we are required to give (particularly information about our status as insurance brokers, regulated by the Financial Services Authority) and set out our Terms and Conditions.

Please take a moment to read our regulatory information and our Terms and Conditions, both of which are important.

Please also see our FAQs pages for more information. We have divided these into four sub-headings, for ease of reference.  The fourth deals with the important subject of contact with PRS.

The information on this website is almost certain to answer your questions, so please read it!  But if it doesn't, please feel free to get in touch wth us, via our Contact Us page.

  • Applying

Before you apply, please don't forget to read our Terms and Conditions and our Regulatory Information pages, and ask for more information about membership and insurance if you need it.

You can have either member or insurance or both - it's your choice.

You can start membership or insurance at any time, but please note that we run both to the end of a month - e.g. 16 March 2011 to 31 March 2012.  If you already have insurance but want to add membership (or vice versa) it will run until the other expires, at which point you can renew either or both for a year at a time.

Insurance premiums are calculated on a pro rata basis, using the annual rates given in our literature.  Our membership fees don't vary in this way:  the cost for the first and subsquent years is as set out in our Membership pages.
